Nascar – Ricky Stenhouse Jr wins at Daytona

In this 2017 season, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. seems to have found the right formula on super-speedways. The Roush Fenway Racing resident pocketed his second victory of the season and career after Talladega (Alabama) last May on the Daytona oval in Florida.

Before crossing the line as the winner, Stenhouse Jr avoided the numerous incidents that punctuated this second coming to Daytona this year. Among the main victims, Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports – Chevrolet), initially left to hug the outside wall after a puncture on the front right before being involved in a crash with Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford) and Brad Keselowski (Team Penske – Ford).

For the victory, Ricky Stenhouse Jr crossed the finish line as the winner during the overtime procedure, after taking the advantage at the last restart of lap 162 from David Ragan (Front Row Motorsports – Ford). The Roush Fenway driver will resist until the end to beat Clint Bowyer (Stewart-Haas Racing).

Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing – Chevrolet) finished third ahead of Michael McDowell (Leavine Family Racing – Chevrolet) and Ryan Newman (Richard Childress Racing). Erik Jones (Furniture Row Racing) places the best Toyota Camry in ninth place.

Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) finished in 12th place, when Kyle Busch entered the top 20. Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) had won the first two segments of the race.
