Nascar – Stenhouse Jr will replace Kenseth in 2013

Matt Kenseth will leave Roush Fenway Racing at the end of the year to give way to Ricky Stenhouse Jr in the No. 17 Ford. The 40-year-old American started his career in Nascar in 1996 within Jack Roush's team with which he won the Winson Cup title (equivalent to the Sprint Cup) in 2003. After 17 seasons of good and loyal service, he will hand over his steering wheel to the promising Ricky Stenhouse Jr, another RFR driver who plays in the lower category in Nationwide where he won the title last year when he was only competing in his second season.

“Ricky Stenhouse Jr has proven that he clearly has skills on a track”, comments Jack Roush, co-owner of the eponymous team. “We feel that he is not only a key piece of the future of our team but that he will also be a key piece of the future of the sport. Rousf Fenway is an organization that has a splendid past and present, with a very bright future as well, and I can't think of a better candidate than Ricky to enter our new era of success. Of course, I would like to thank Matt Kenseth for all his years of loyal service. Matt has been an integral part of this structure for well over a decade and we thank him for his results and contribution. We will always consider him a member of the family. »
