No revolution in Nascar

Dale Earnhardt Jr, one of the most popular and controversial drivers in Nascar, kicked the anthill this Friday. The son of the seven-time Nascar champion, often listened to despite his disappointing results on the track, had called on Mike Helton, president of Nascar, so that the 2010 cars could evolve more freely. Mike Helton was quick to react and did not give in under pressure. Nascar will not experience any revolution in 2010, there will be no changes to those already undertaken for next season on the Sprint Cup Series cars.

The president of Nascar also maintained the decision to ban testing. He said the ban was put in place to cut costs in difficult economic times, with no signs that the latter is over.

Mike Helton also objected to Dale Earnhardt Jr's statements about the value of racing, with the latter having said that double-file restarts resulted in " 95% of the race did not justify the price of the entry ticket ". For Helton, Nascar is worth more than today what it was a few months ago, with double-file restarts having been introduced in June.
