Ryan Blaney at the photo finish at Talladega

Talladega reserved for us last night a finish at the photo finish like only oval events, and in particular in Nascar Cup SeriesEdit, can offer. In the running for Victory Lane, Ryan Blaney (Team Penske – Ford) and Ricky Stenhouse Jr (JTG Daugherty – Chevrolet) were decided on the line by seven thousandths to the advantage of the first city.

Reportée de dimanche à lundi, puis encore retardée hier, la course sur le super-speedway de l’Alabama s’est jouée dans le dernier tour, et Ryan Blaney a bien failli tout perdre dans un contact à quelques dizaines de mètres de la ligne avec Erik Jones (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota), ce dernier allant percuter le mur.

Slightly cut off in his momentum, Blaney finally crossed the line ahead of Stenhouse Jr and Aric Almirola (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford), left sideways just before the finish line. Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones complete the top 5 with their Toyota – Joe Gibbs Racing.

Note that before the start of the race, the teams wanted to show their support for Bubba Wallace Jr (Richard Petty Motorsports – Chevrolet), victim of an odious racist gesture last weekend.
