Ryan Newman was declared fit to return to service by doctors last Monday and will be able to get back behind the wheel of his No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford Mustang when the Nascar will resume.
The 2014 runner-up was hospitalized after a startling crash during the finish of the Daytona 500 where his car flew away and was hit by competitors several times. The Roush Fenway resident spent only two days at the hospital at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Ryan Newman ultimately only missed 3 races before Nascar was stopped due to the coronavirus epidemic. He received authorization to participate in the playoffs despite his absence due to exceptional circumstances and will thus be able to continue his second year of collaboration with his new team. Nascar has not yet given a date for a resumption of competition.
