Stenhouse Jr on pole for the Daytona 500

Ricky Stenhouse Jr gets his collaboration with JTG Daugherty Racing off to a good start by winning pole at the Daytona 500 (Florida). The former Roush Fenway Racing resident who swapped places with Chris Buescher obtained the third pole of his career after Atlanta (Georgia) and Talladega (Alabama) in 2017, another superspeedway.

“The power of the Hendrick engine was incredible. We had several Hendrick cars right behind us, but our Camaro was very capable.”, explained the pole sitter.

If the 32-year-old American specializes in long ovals, he also benefited from the performance of his Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE since the first four positions are occupied by frames bearing the Bow Tie. With an average speed of 194,582 mph (more than 313 km/h), the new driver of the No. 47 beat Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson. THE Toyota of Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were the closest. Aric Almirola placed the first Ford Mustang in 7th place.
