Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards have been following each other for several races in the fight for the Chase. Before the final event of the season which will be contested in Miami, the gap between the two Chasers is only 3 points to the advantage of the No. 99 Ford. However, Smoke seems completely unstressed by the stakes, having won two previous titles in 2002 and 2005.
“The only thing that concerns me this week is that I am absolutely not stressed about the Championship”, comments the driver of the No. 14 Chevrolet. “I had a significant lead in 2002 and 2005 but I was still nervous. But this year I didn't even think I would be in the Chase, it took a lot of pressure off me. I'm not trying to close a big gap, I'm right behind him. I have nothing to lose, it won't matter if we miss each other. Being in this state of mind is a dangerous combination. »
