Truex Jr continues in Richmond

Martin Truex Jr (Toyota) s’est offert le premier doublé de sa carrière en remportant la course de Richmond (Virginie) une semaine après sa victoire à Las Vegas (Nevada). Le leader des playoffs n’a pourtant pas eu la course facile puisqu’il a été envoyé en tête-à-queue à 85 tours de l’arrivée par Ricky Stenhouse Jr (Ford).

The 2017 champion started from 3rd place after the last yellow flag and managed to gain the advantage over his teammates by overtaking Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin. Erik Jones was expected to give Joe Gibbs Racing a quadruple, but his No. 20 Camry was disqualified for a technical infraction.

One round from the end of the first phase of the playoffs, Alex Bowman (Chevrolet) is the first in the elimination zone. The Hendrick Motorsports resident is ahead of Clint Bowyer (Ford), Kurt Busch (Chevrolet) and Erik Jones.
