Néstor Girolami with Volvo in Motegi

Néstor Girolami has been confirmed in Motegi (Japan) on September 3 and 4 with Polestar Racing. The double reigning TC2000 champion in Argentina will make his WTCC debut by taking the Volvo S60 of Robert Dahlgren who is absent due to a clash of dates with the STCC where he has his chances of being crowned by playing 11 points behind his teammate and leader Richard Göransson.

“We let Robert concentrate on the STCC because he is in a position to play for the title, explained Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, the sporting director of Polestar. At the same time, we will have the opportunity to test Néstor during this weekend as our program evolves next year. »

Néstor Girolami has already had the opportunity to drive the Volvo S60 TC1 during a test session organized at Termas de Rio Hondo (Argentina) following the WTCC.

“I followed the meeting with the team and learned a lot about the car before testing, confided the 27-year-old Argentinian. I felt very comfortable during the tests. The team worked hard to improve the performance and development of the car. I feel great potential with the Volvo S60. »

“My goal for Japan is to take a step forward and above all show that I have the speed and engineering skills to join the team in the future”, recognized Néstor Girolami.
