Max Verstappen finally secured a victory in 2026. It should be noted that this is not a success in Formula 1, but rather in NLS, the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. This championship, contested entirely on the Nürburgring circuit and its famous north loop (Nordschleife), held its second round of the year this Saturday, March 21, the first having been cancelled due to weather conditions.

At the wheel of the Mercedes BenzDriving the AMG GT3 for his own Verstappen Racing team, Max Verstappen enjoyed a dream day. The four-time Formula 1 world champion, bolstered by his already successful partnership with Frenchman Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella, dominated the proceedings. A pole position secured by a considerable margin was followed by a masterfully executed race.

After four hours of effort, the Mercedes sponsored by Red Bull crossed the finish line one minute ahead of the BMW of Dan Harper and Jordan Pepper in 2nd place.

This victory ideally launches Max Verstappen's challenge: to win the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in mid-May with the same crew and the arrival of Austrian Lucas Auer.

It was somewhat expected, given that the four-time F1 World Champion had put his Mercedes on pole, especially since his two co-drivers also know their stuff perfectly on the Nordschleife! Verstappen certainly had much more fun behind the wheel than during the first two Grands Prix of the Battery World Championship season.

Well done, with such a crew it was difficult for the others!
