New improvements for the Audi R8 LMS GT3

An emblematic figure of the Ingolstadt firm in GT3, the R8 LMS GT3 has enjoyed success in numerous international competitions for a little over 10 years.

In order to " to ensure this continuity », Audi Sport customer racing presented an evolution kit (Evo II) for customer racing.

« The new evolution responds even more to the needs of our customers, specifies Chris Reinke, head of customer competition at Audi Sport. The majority of innovations reflect the wishes expressed by the teams ».

For this Evo II kit, Audi focused on five areas of work: aerodynamics, engine characteristics, air conditioning, suspension and traction control.

Regarding aerodynamics, ground support will be generated more by the new rear wing rather than by the floor. The engine for its part has a new intake system thus improving the torque of the R8 LMS GT3.

Thanks to this improvement kit, the shock absorbers now have four different settings, thus optimizing the car's suspension, as does the traction control, which sees its number of functions increase. Finally, the new air conditioning should offer more comfort to the pilot in the cockpit.

Teams can order this upgrade kit for the 2022 season or buy a new R8 LMS GT3 for 429.000 euros, plus VAT.
