PCCF – Barcelona: Benjamin Paque aims for the top-3 in qualifying

This Friday, Benjamin Paque did not leave the top-5. Fourth in the morning, the CLRT driver then accelerated his pace to place himself in second position behind his new teammate, Dorian Boccolacci. “ During FP1, I discovered the new sequence at the end of the circuit. We also wanted to validate what we had worked on during the winter tests. When I put on the new tires in the afternoon, I tried to do the best lap possible. It worked pretty well although I didn't expect to be so close. » 

Before starting qualifying, the Belgian knows to what extent his place on the grid determines the rest of the two races. He therefore wants to go as high as possible. “ I'm aiming for a top-3 finish for both starts. » 

A rookie with already experience

If he is entered in the Pro/Rookie category, Benjamin Paque already has a good track record behind the wheel of a Porsche. At only 18 years old, he already drove on the Monaco track in the Porsche Supercup last year before doing several stints at the end of the season in the Cup France with CLRT. Faced with his rivals in the category (Mathys Jaubert, Louis Rousset and Marlon Hernandez), the Belgian is the big favorite.

« I don't have any pressure at all. Of course, it's a goal for our season but it's not a priority. I don't dream of the rookie title because I want to take advantage of my experience to play with the best. » To validate this, Benjamin Paque's mission is to get on his first PCCF podium as soon as possible.
