During the official tests on March 30 at Magny-Cours, Marvin Klein told us he wanted to move forward step by step with his new team. Transferred from CLRT to TFT Racing during the winter, the Varois first wanted to take a pole position before thinking about victory, then possibly the title.

This Saturday in Barcelona, during the qualifying session, the double reigning champion set the best time in 1'43”768. “ This was my first objective because I want to do things in order with the team, he said as he got out of his car. I'm super happy for them, it's their first. We did a very good job! »

His new team manager, Tony Pereira, was obviously happy with this result. “ It’s a program that was put together at the last minute. It's really cool to be on pole, it rewards all the team's work. We knew we could count on Marvin. We must also congratulate Mathys (Jaubert) who finished fourth. Hats off to them both! » It's even a double pole for TFT Racing because the Junior Porsche France 2023 is the first in the rookie category.

Small disappointment for the C2

Marvin Klein's second fastest lap didn't live up to his first. The wearer of No. 1 was hampered by the various yellow flags during one of his time attacks. “ I'm a little disappointed because I wasn't able to do a very good fast lap on my second train. We made P1 and P3, it's a bit of a shame but it's still a pole. » The director of the Gers team preferred to philosophize by estimating that “ that's also the game. » Marvin Klein will therefore start third behind Alessandro Ghiretti (Martinet by Alméras) and Dorian Boccolacci (CLRT) during Race 2.

TFT Racing does not see itself as a winner yet

Although Marvin Klein took pole position, caution remains on the side of TFT Racing. “ We'll see tonight for the victory, confides Tony Pereira. We accomplished the first mission and it was very important. We have to move forward as we go. » Winner two years ago on the same track, the team leader also knows that nothing is taken for granted.

« We must manage C1 well. There is a lot of tire damage that we have to take into account. We will work to be able to be at full strength throughout the race. » Marvin Klein will also have to be wary of Alessandro Ghiretti (Martinet by Alméras), second on the grid, author of a magnificent start in 2021. The first race of the season will be followed from 16:30 p.m.
