PCCF – Barcelona: Rookie championship objective for Marlon Hernandez

Last November, Marlon Hernandez presented himself at Paul Ricard with the hope of being elected Junior Porsche France 2023 at the end of the two days of Junior Program selection. Not chosen, the 18-year-old pilot has not given up on his dream. Here he is this weekend in Barcelona to compete in the first round of the championship with the ABM team.

In the Catalan paddock, he recounted how he arrived within the Haut-Savoie team.  « We first spoke with CLRT because I did the Sprint Challenge with them last year. Then we spoke with ABM. I did two or three tests and everything was perfect. The atmosphere is nice and it's a good experience to discover a new team. »

The new ABM pilot arrives in a very strong collective. In fact, five cars are entered this season and present in each category. Thus, Victor Blugeon rides in Pro, Marlon Hernandez in Pro and Rookie. Last year's Am champion, Sébastien Dussolliet is taking the next step and will fight with the Pro-Am. Among the Ams, Sébastien Poisson will try to go for the title but Karim Ajlani hopes to give him a hard time. « It's not easy to find your place right away, says our interlocutor of the day. I try as much as possible to help the team while understanding how it works. I have integrated well and I am very happy to be here. »

For his first official day in PCCF, Marlon Hernandez achieved the 8th fastest time twice. At the dawn of qualifying and his first race in Cup France, the ABM driver clearly knows what his objective is for the season: “ The rookie championship! Of course I am also involved in Pro but rookie is my primary ambition. » The wearer of No. 27 will have a hard time facing the Junior Porsche France 2023, Mathys Jaubert (TFT Racing) and the formidable CLRT of Benjamin Paque and Louis Rousset.
