The PCCF will enter the money time of the 2022 season: the last two races of the year at Paul Ricard, those which will decide the champion of this 35th edition of the championship. Leader since the opening round in Nogaro, Marvin Klein had 14 points more than Dorian Boccolacci in the general classification before this final. The CLRT driver added two more to his bag following qualifying. “ A little embarrassed » in his best turn and « less comfortable with the second set of tires », the Varois still dominated all his opponents. “ I am obviously satisfied, he admitted at the end of the session. I take the sessions one after the other but each point gained is important. » Ideally placed on the grid, its objective remains the same as during previous meetings, title at stake or not: “ I want to make poles and win races. Qualifications are over, now aim for victory! »

He too would have liked to take these two precious points to put pressure on his opponent. Unfortunately for Dorian Boccolacci, his fastest laps were disrupted by traffic. “ I clearly had the speed to take pole, we stupidly missed that, regretted the Cannes resident. I improve by four tenths in the first sector but one of my teammates hinders me. It's a shame because it was clearly a pole position lap. »

The Martinet by Alméras driver does not lose hope and knows from experience that nothing is decided until the last race. The No. 19 lost the title during the last round of the 2021 season in Portimão, to Marvin Klein.  « There are still a lot of points to distribute, the weekend is not over. The first race will be at night, a lot can happen in these conditions. I was good in FP2 so we'll see what happens this Saturday evening. » With the spectacular outcome of last year and the uncertainty of the sport, the two rivals agree on one point: “ the accounts will be done on Sunday at the end of C2. »
