Marc Guillot's season is starting a little later than his rivals'. A month ago, the Dijon player was absent from pre-season testing. As the 2025 season kicks off, Porsche Carrera Cup France, the ABM driver knows he is one step behind: " The start is going to be complicated. I've had less riding than the others. The last time I came to Barcelona was during the first round of 2024. We'll have to get back into the swing of things quickly. I'm expecting a bit of a difficult qualifying session, but I'll try to get back into the race." Since the final in Portimão, the Pro-Am title holder has only ridden a 992 GT3 Cup once, during a test day in Dijon.
Unlike last year, Marc Guillot arrives as the hunted man. Beaten by Jérôme Boullery in 2023, he took his revenge in 2024 to win his first Pro-Am championship. However, being the man to beat doesn't seem to worry him: " Honestly, it doesn't change anything. Jérôme will remain my main rival. I hope we'll both have a great season. Cyril Caillo won the Am and will definitely be in the running as the year progresses. The Racing Technology drivers will also benefit from the contribution of Joran Leneutre, a very fast youngster. We'll have to work on our side to improve as well. »
For this, the ABM resident can count on the help of double PCCF champion (2021 and 2022) Marvin Klein. Every time Marvin is here, I feel the difference in the way my car handles. I'm not a technical expert when it comes to setup, and he brings that to me. He brings me a lot in terms of driving thanks to his coaching."
As the first weekend begins, the question of ambition is on everyone's lips. Marc Guillot's is clear: " I'll do everything I can to retain my title, that's my only goal. It will be tough, like the last two years, but I hope to succeed."
