PCCF – Spa-Francorchamps: Paul Cauhaupé double winner as a rookie: “I needed to make it happen in the race”

Paul, your progress was visible at each meeting and this weekend, you showed it with three podiums (two in rookie and one scratch)!
I needed to make this happen in the race! Everything is going in the right direction and we are progressing steadily. It was average in Barcelona, a little better in qualifying at Paul Ricard and Spa, I managed to be fast throughout the weekend. I thank the team Schumacher CLRT for tuning the car perfectly. I'm getting back into the championship and as a rookie before the summer break.

In three meetings, what is the sector where you have progressed the most?
I have improved a lot in terms of braking. This was clearly my big weak point in Catalonia. At Castellet, there was less heavy braking so it was difficult to judge. But here I saw my progress. There is still a big margin, especially when we see what Alessandro (Ghiretti, his teammate) is doing, the goal is to get closer.

We saw you very skilled in defense. Is this also a point where you improved over the weekend?
In Race 1, I tended to look in my mirrors too much. I couldn't drive like I did in Free Practice. Today (Sunday), I paid attention to what was happening behind but I tried hard to be as fast as possible. This allowed me to get ahead of Benjamin Paque, especially in sector 2, who came out of Raidillon very well and came back strong in Les Combes. I enjoyed these racing battles, it's great for gaining experience.

After Marcus Amand and Victor Bernier, you also had your first overall podium as a rookie.
Finishing second overall in Race 2 is really great. I felt good on Friday and finished my weekend in style.
