In his second year at TFT Racing, Benjamin Paque expected to compete higher in the standings. In Barcelona and then Dijon, the Belgian failed to find the keys to being in the leading group. The first two meetings were more complicated than expected, he admitted at the dawn of the third meeting of the season. In Catalonia, a track limit in qualifying penalized us heavily. In the first race, I had a long brake pedal that forced me to release it between 30 and 50 meters before the braking point. I tried to survive to finish the race. In Race 2, I finished fifth after starting eleventh. In Dijon, we had a good car on Thursday but we struggled to find it again during the rest of the round.
Between the second weekend of PCCF in Burgundy and the third at Spa-Francorchamps, Benjamin Paque discovered the Mercedes AMG GT3 at Portimão in the Ultimate Cup European Series, with a podium finish, then again entered the top-3 in the Italian Cup. This result felt good and showed that the speed was still there."
Now the Belgian faces his national event, on the circuit he knows best in the world: Spa-Francorchamps. I think this meeting comes at the right time. I'm at home, but I've learned not to overdo it at a home race. I've matured to handle this type of event, where you have extra motivation but you have to know how to stay grounded."
Used to doing several races here during the year, those in PCCF will be the first of 2025: “ It's quite rare that it's "so late," in June. I'm not worried, I hope to have a good car and do great things." And why not fully launch your season in front of your home crowd?
