PCCF – Valencia: Alessandro Ghiretti “It’s up to me to do better in C2”

La journée du samedi à Valence aurait pu être plus joyeuse pour Alessandro Ghiretti. A moins d’un dixième de la pole de la course 2 ce matin, le Junior Porsche France 2021 n’a même pas terminé sur le podium en C1. Parti troisième, le pilote Martinet by Alméras est pourtant passé sous le drapeau à damiers à la même position.
A few moments after arriving in the parc ferme, the No. 22 was given a penalty for not respecting track limits. With five seconds added to his race time, Dorian Boccolacci's teammate saw Bastian Buus (Allied Racing) reach the podium. “ I don't feel like I've done that much, recognized the culprit at the end of C1. The sanction fell so it is because I did not respect the rule. I must not make such stupid mistakes. »
At the start, Alessandro Ghiretti was very close to overtaking Marvin Klein (CLRT) to move into second position. The funnel of turn two will have put an end to his hopes. “ I was glued to the inside white line, it was too risky to try to brake later than Marvin Klein. I preferred to slow down rather than take both of us out. »
With one more race to go on the Ricardo Tormo circuit, the man who had six podiums last season wants to bounce back. “ It's up to me to do better in C2. I hope to at least finish where I start, if I can gain places that's great. I will be happy with my race as long as I don't make any mistakes. » To hope to get on the podium, Alessandro Ghiretti will absolutely have to make a successful start, the best way to overtake on this track. The lights will go out this Sunday at 10:45 a.m.
