The only rider to break the 1 minute 38 second barrier, Marvin Klein got back into the swing of things in the most efficient way possible after a winter without any testing for the ABM team. Record holder for these two days of pre-season testing at the Magny-Cours circuit, the two-time champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup France set a new benchmark of 1:37.962 on Wednesday afternoon, March 18th. Earlier in the day, Marvin Klein had already set the morning's benchmark with a time of 1:38.053, securing the second-fastest overall time across the four sessions.
At the end of this second day of testing in the Nièvre region, several points are worth noting. PCCF Junior 2026 driver Macéo Capietto, competing with Martinet by Alméras, set the second fastest time in the afternoon session, confirming his potential, especially considering he had focused primarily on familiarizing himself with the car the previous day. While his simulation on Wednesday afternoon was mainly focused on race pace, the Alméras driver was still able to complete a few qualifying laps, justifying his increased pace. Just behind the former driver of...ELMSHis teammate Paul Cauhaupé was particularly consistent, finishing third in the afternoon but second in the morning. Enzo Joulié, not far behind, finished the final session in fourth position.
As for the international teams, Quanloop EST1 Racing and LOB Racing did not participate in the afternoon session. However, for the Estonian team EST1, Alexander Reimann's impressive third-place finish, following his strong performance the previous day, bodes well for his outright performance ahead of Barcelona.
The rookies are getting organized, the Pro-Am and Am teams are honing their skills
Among the key issues of the day was, naturally, the rookies' track time, which needed to be optimized in preparation for the rapidly approaching start of the season. In particular, Dylan Estre (GP Racing Team) had his Tuesday session cut short by a mechanical problem. Having completed 37 laps on Wednesday afternoon, the young driver from the car managed to climb into the Top 10 of the standings. Malo Bolliet, for his part, a Racing Technology driver, sixth and eighth in the two sessions of the day, managed to be competitive even though his team's main objective with regard to him was not there.
In the Pro-Am category, 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup France runner-up Jérôme Boullery (Racing Technology) took the lead thanks to an absolute best time set in the afternoon, of 1:39.218. In the Am category, Éric Debard was fastest with a time of 1:39.966.
The date is now set for each of the eight teams and 23 drivers competing. April 10th will mark the official start of the PCCF season, at the Barcelona circuit in Catalonia.
