First competition test for the new Porsche 911 GT3 R

La Porsche 911 GT3 R basée sur la génération 992 va se tester pour la première fois face à la concurrence. L’Allemande sera ainsi exploitée par Manthey ce week-end au Nürburgring, for the seventh round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. It will be lined up in the 24h-Special SP-X category with only one other car, a KTM X-Bow GT2 from the True Racing team. This class is reserved for cars still under development. Two French people will share the wheel of the new GT from the Stuttgart firm: Frédéric Makowiecki, accustomed to the development of the German manufacturer's new cars, and Julien Andlauer.

This new challenger for GT3 series around the world is based on the current 992 generation and will be ready to race at the start of the 2023 season. Development began in 2019. Priority was given to improving handling for professionals and gentlemen drivers, as well as the exploitation of greater performance reserves for different classifications of the Balance of Performance (BoP). Another goal was to streamline race car management for teams and reduce operating costs.
