Rast, Frijns and Müller absent from the 24 hours of Spa

It's a hell of a lot that forfeits the 24 Hours of Spa. The three drivers in the running for the championship title DTM René Rast, Robin Frijns and Nico Müller have decided to focus on the German series which will play its final on October 30 and 31. They will therefore not take part in the Ardennes classic.

Nico Müller was to drive the No. 25 Audi of the French Saintéloc team, while Robin Frijns was entered in the No. 30 Audi of Team WRT and René Rast in the other car of the Belgian team, the No. 31.

To replace them, Audi calls on two French drivers, Dorian Boccolacci and Matthieu Vaxiviere. Boccolacci is racing this season in the ADAC GT Masters as well as the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Matthieu Vaxivière, for his part, won the opening round of the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup at Imola with Team WRT for its only appearance in the series. Dennis Marschall completes the substitutes.

Ultimately, the No. 30 Audi WRT will be driven by Christopher Mies, Matthieu Vaxivière and Dennis Marschall. The No. 31 will be entrusted to Mirko Bortolotti, Kelvin van der Linde and Dries Vanthoor. Dorian Boccolaci will join Audi Saintéloc in place of Nico Müller.

Testing for the 24 Hours of Spa begins on Thursday.
