Tarquini puts his title back on the line

Seat has stopped its official involvement in the WTCC but the Leon TDI will remain a great weapon for victory this season. SR-Sport, an offshoot of Sunred Engineering, which maintains very close links with Seat, will prepare four Leon TDIs throughout the 2010 WTCC season. The first beneficiary is Gabriele Tarquini, world champion in the discipline in 2009. The Italian driver will therefore be able to defend his title this season with a car that took him to the top.

Tom Coronel, winner of the Trophée des Indépendants last season with a Seat Leon TFSI, will benefit from a diesel model this year, allowing him to play for victory. Tiago Monteiro, former teammate of Yvan Muller (Seat/Oreca), and Jordi Gené will also drive one of the four SR-Sport Leon TDIs.

« I'm really excited about running Seat Leon TDIs because I think we can fight for victory thanks to SR-Sport and these four great drivers., says Joan Orus, team principal of SR-Sport. We will also have Michel Nykjaer racing under the Sunred banner, all of which will be a great opportunity to demonstrate our full potential. I have to thank the Seat Sport customer department for their support, as well as the drivers who trust us. »
