Starting from pole position, under the reverse grid rule depending on the qualifying result, Aurélien Panis (Honda Civic – Boutsen Ginion Racing) converted his preferential position on the grid into victory this Sunday on the Thai track of Buriram.
Author of a good start, the Frenchman was ahead of Giacomo Altoe (Honda Civic – M1RA) from the first meters, despite starting from the second row, Stefano Comini (Audi RS3 – Comtoyou Racing) and Attila Tassi (Honda Civic – M1RA). The resident of the Boutsen Ginion Racing team will not be worried during the event, maintaining a lead of more than a second at the finish.
For his second outing in the category, Aurélien Panis won in the end ahead of Altoe and Comini. Attila Tassi finished fourth and took control of the championship after returning to the level of Jean-Karl Vernay (Volkswagen Golf GTi – Leopard Racing) at the end of race 1.
The Frenchman concludes this second confrontation of the weekend in fifth position, but remains in the immediate wake of Tassi in the championship.
