The Swiss won the final race of the year in Dubai but missed out by one point for the TCR International Series vice-champion rank.

TCR – Comini concludes with a victory, problems for Vernay in Dubai

Stefano Comini (Audi RS LM3 from ComToYou) scored the third victory of the season during the final round of the TCR International Series in Dubai. The Swiss, who gave in in the morning the crown goes to Jean-Karl Vernay (Leopard Racing) ahead of Gianni Morbidelli (WestCoast Volkswagen Golf GTI) and Josh Files (M1RA Honda Civic).

The young Attila Tassi (M1RA Honda Civic, 12th), who started from pole position, received a mandatory pit stop penalty for early departure. The Hungarian, however, preserves his honorary rank of 2017 vice-champion by one unit.

Aurélien Paris (Honda Civic from Boutsen Ginion Racing) finished 13th, ahead Aurélien Comte (Opel Astra of DG Sport Compétition, 15th), while the recent champion Jean Karl Vernay suffered mechanical problems and finished the season with a 16th place.

The M1RA team, co-managed by Honda WTCC driver Norbert Michelisz, is crowned team champion.
