Audi Sport supports the entry of four RS 3 LMS in 2019

The 2019 World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) season will be hosted by Audi Sport. The German manufacturer will support the entry of four RS 3 LMS distributed equally among the team Comtoyou and WRT (officially named Leopard Racing Team Audi Sport).

With long-term contracts, Jean-Karl Vernay and Gordon Shedden stay together at WRT. The Frenchman, 2017 TCR International Series champion, scored no less than four successes in 2018 and finished the season ranked fifth. As for the Scotsman, legend of the British Touring Championship (BTCC), he will have to do better than his 13th place for his year of discovery.

Frédéric Vervisch, also an official Audi Sport driver, continues the adventure with Comtoyou. The recent winner of the 24 Hours of Dubai will have a new teammate in the person of Niels Langeveld. « Niels has been consistent in TCR Germany for the last two years and he has impressed us (5th and 3rd with two victories) », says Chris Reinke, head of customer programs for Audi Sport.

The Dutchman, aged 30, “Is in an ideal position to learn and progress during his rookie year,” rejoices François Ribeiro, boss of Eurosport Events, promoter of the championship.
