Björk and Oriola on pole at the Nordschleife Nürburgring

The 2017 WTCC world champion got a second on his closest pursuer, Belgian Frédéric Vervisch (Audi). The latter notably benefited from a better top speed on his RS3 LMS from the Comtoyou Racing team. This is the best performance by a car from the Belgian team in qualifying this season.

Le premier Français inscrit est le quadruple champion WTCC Yvan Muller (Hyundai), vainqueur la veille en Course 1. L’Alsacien devance son neveu Yann Ehrlacher (Honda) de 10 millièmes.

Author of a fifth place on Thursday, Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi) will have more difficulty repeating his performance due to an 11th time. Followed by Nathanaël Berthon (Audi, 12th), John Filippi (Cupra, 17th), Aurélien Panis (Audi, 18th), Aurélien Comte (Peugeot , 22th)

Thanks to the reverse grid, Pepe Oriola (Cupra) takes his second pole of the year. The Spaniard, qualified with the 10th best time in the ''real'' hierarchy, will be ahead of guest driver René Rast (Audi) on the first row. Yann Ehrlacher will be the first tricolor on the grid in sixth place.

Race 2 will start on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., followed at 12:20 p.m. by Race 3.
