C1 – Muller in force in Ningbo, Guerrieri loses points

If it had to be proven, age has no influence on Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co). Freshly in his fifties, the Frenchman converted his pole position to victory in Race 1 of the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) in Ningbo (China), Saturday September 14.

Curiously, despite three podiums, the Alsatian had never climbed to the top step this season. This anomaly was repaired after permanent resistance during the 13 rounds of effort against Ma Qing Hua (Alfa Romeo), which returns to the forefront on its land.

The Argentinian is only nine points ahead after an incident on the starting grid. Fire extinguisher triggered in the passenger compartment, the Honda Civic Type-R was taken to the pits while the peloton was released.

Aurélien Panis (Cupra, 5th) was one of the leaders of the event, fierily overtaking Augusto Farfus (Hyundai, 6th). Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co, 13th) and Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi, 16th) fought in the peloton.
