Gruber replaces Catsburg and Sapag arrives in Hungary

The Austrian pilot will replace the Dutchman, busy across the Atlantic with Petit Le Mans at Corvette Racing. “It's difficult to say why this opportunity presented itself to me when I only had four races in TCR Germany, indicates the rookie.

But my team supported me and Hyundai is up for it. Maybe it's thanks to my very first race in the category, which I almost won. I will try to get the best possible result in Hungary and help the team in the best way.

In WTCR, it has nothing to do with TCR Germany. Everyone is fully engaged from the first free practice session while I'm still learning how to use a touring car. »

Still in the Hyundai clan, a third Argentinian will follow in the footsteps of Esteban Guerrieri and Nestor Girolami in Tourism. This is José Manuel Sapag, winner in the national TC2000 and eighth in his first event in TCR Europe last weekend in Barcelona (Spain).

“I have only driven on the Hungaroring in a simulator, it will be a great challenge, specifies the person concerned, involved with Target Competition. The level of the WTCR is so high that my objective will be to get used to this new environment. »
