Hyundai launches young TCR driver program

Hyundai will help its youngest customers climb the TCR ladder by launching a detection program reserved for under 24s. The Korean manufacturer will look for applicants within the regional and national grids where they are engaged on i30 N TCRs. They will be selected on the basis of their results and their ability to work within a professional structure.

The lucky winners will receive support and advice from WTCR drivers such as reigning champion Gabriele Tarquini as well as specific training so that they can eventually become professional drivers. A test session within BRC Racing with team drivers Augusto Farfus, Gabriel Tarquini, Nicky Catsburg and Norbert Michelisz.

“This is a new step in the offering offered to customers all over the world, notes Hyundai Motorsport director Andrea Adamo. We already have fantastic drivers behind the wheel of our cars, but this program will help attract more young drivers to Hyundai and the i30 N TCR. We can help them without their professional career and competing in regional and national series in TCR up to WTCR. »

The Hyundai i30 N TCR will compete for the first time this year in TCR Asia as well as in TCR Australia, a series which has just been launched this year.
