Michelisz's good move in Vila Real

Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai) was not troubled in the first race of the WTCR weekend in Vila Real (Portugal). The BRC Racing Team Hyundai resident remained in the lead of the event where he started on pole from start to finish to score his second success of the year. The Hungarian beat Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co) who took the advantage over Augusto Farfus (Hyundai) and prevented the BRC Racing Team from taking a double.

The winner carried out an excellent operation since the leader of the Drivers classification Esteban Guerrieri (Honda) only finished 24th following a mechanical problem and he only has a 15 point lead over the Hungarian.

Rob Huff (Volkswagen) and Nicky Catsburg (Hyundai) completed the Top 5 ahead of Aurélien Panis (Cupra) and Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen). Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co) took 9th place, placing himself between his teammate Thed Björk and Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi).

The second qualifying session will be contested this Sunday at 10:55 a.m. Race 2 will start at 16:15 p.m. while Race 3 will follow at 17:30 p.m. The meeting will be followed live on Eurosport channels.
