The World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) will be based in the Motorland Aragon paddock for three years, between 2020 and 2022. This is the contract signed by the Spanish track with the competition promoted by Eurosport Events, revealed by the Aragonese track website.

The WTCR, and previously the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) has not been back since 2012. The only venue to have hosted World Tourism in Spain (between 2005 and 2012) was the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, with some great battles to boot:
Spain is a nation strongly represented in WTCR. The Navarrese Mikel Azcona, 2018 TCR Europe champion, rides aboard a Cupra TCR from PWR Racing, whose staff is largely made up of Spaniards. Three other examples of the car that made it possible to create the TCR regulations in 2015 are there.
The Motorland Aragon circuit thus finds an international level automobile discipline in its calendar, after the end of the World Series by Renault in 2016. . The Aragonese track has stood out until now with the arrival of first-rate motorcycle championships such as the MotoGP and the World Superbike Championship (World SBK), as well as the holding of private tests.
