Official WTCR tests in Spain canceled due to coronavirus

The WTCR is the latest category impacted by the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus. The series promoted by Eurosport Events, which was to organize pre-season testing from March 24 to 26 in Aragon in Spain, confirmed the cancellation of these runs in the face of the epidemic.

A common sense decision for the promoter. “Eurosport has taken the decision to avoid any unnecessary health risks in the interests of drivers, teams, suppliers, media and the wider community. » it is specified in a press release.

A new session is already scheduled ahead of the first round of the year at the Hungaroring (April 24-26), with no date set yet. The WTCR follows the examples of Super Formula and the GT Open which recently postponed either their winter tests or their first championship round.
