Muller loses his pole at Zandvoort

The Lynk & Co 03 TCRs shone again in WTCR qualifying at Zandvoort, with Yvan Muller taking pole ahead of teammates Yann Ehrlacher and Thed Björk, but the four-time WTCC champion was disqualified.

Muller loses his pole at Zandvoort

Yvan Muller took his first WTCR pole of the season at Zandvoort (Netherlands) by more than 4 tenths ahead of his teammates Yann Ehrlacher and Thed Björk, the winner of the first race contested this Saturday the Hyundai i30 N de Norbert Michelisz et Augusto Farfus ont complété le classement de la Q3. Toutefois, the four-time WTCC champion was disqualified from the final session for having used his overboost and will have to start from 5th position while his nephew Yann Ehrlacher will inherit the pole.

Q2 was already dominated by the Lynk & Co 03, with Yvan Muller and Thed Björk setting the same time. Mikel Azcona (Cupa) missed the last session for 3 thousandths behind Yann Ehrlacher and secured 6th position ahead of Nicky Catsburg (Hyundai), Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen), Benjamin Leuchter (Volkswagen) and the new leader of the standings Drivers Esteban Guerrieri (Honda) who will start from pole for Race 2 after beating his teammate Nestor Girolami by 4 thousandths.

Andy Priaulx was the only Lynk & Co driver lacking pace, the Briton missing Q2 with the 17th fastest time.

WTCR Race 2 at Zandvoort will be broadcast live from 13 p.m. on Eurosport 2. Race 3 will start at 16:30 p.m.
