Nathanaël Berthon strongest in Zolder qualifying

Nathanaël Berthon dominated Q3 of the first WTCR qualifying session at Zolder to take pole for race 2 tomorrow. Nestor Girolami will start at the front in race 1.

Nathanaël Berthon strongest in Zolder qualifying

For his return to WTCR, Nathanaël Berthon hit hard this Saturday during qualifying for the first event of 2020 at Zolder in Belgium.

The Team Comtoyou Audi Sport driver dominated Q3 of the session, setting a best lap in 1'35″486, 31 thousandths ahead of Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk&Co 03 – Cyan Racing) and 41 thousandths ahead of Gilles Magnus (Audi RS 3 – Comtoyou Racing), one of the most vibrant since the start of Belgian racing.

Santi Urrutia (Lynk&Co 03 – Cyan Performance) and Yvan Muller (Lynk&Co 03 – Cyan Racing) complete the top 5 of this Q3, more than three and five tenths behind.

Pole position for the first race, determined by the reverse top 10 of Q2, will belong to Nestor Girolami (Honda Civic – Münnich Motorsport), who will start in the lead ahead of Jean-Karl Vernay (Alfa Romeo – Team Mulsanne).
