Nestor Girolami doubles the lead in Hungary

Nestor Girolami (Honda Civic TCR – Münnich Motorsport) achieved a double victory in Hungary by masterfully winning the second race of the weekend, on a track where slick tires had been chosen by the competitors despite the rain. occurred this Sunday.

Sixth on the starting grid, the Argentinian, winner in race 1 yesterday, signed an anthology first lap to emerge in second position after the first turns before taking control of the race at the exit of turn n°12 facing the tandem Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi RS 3 – Audi Sport Team Leopard Racing) and Daniel Haglof (Cupra Leon – PWR Racing).

The order within the leading trio will not change until the finish with a second success in two races for Girolami, while Jean-Karl Vernay signs a second second place after an identical result in the second Moroccan race of Marrakesh.

Haglof, for his part, signs his first podium in the discipline. Mikel Azcona (Cupra – PWR Racing) and Esteban Guerrieri (Honda – Münnich Motorsport) complete the top 5 ahead of Yvan Muller (Lynk & Co 03 – Cyan Racing).

Aurélien Panis (Cupra Leon – Comtoyou Racing) finished 13th when Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co 03 – Cyan Performance) was forced to retire after contact with Gabriele Tarquini (Hyundai i30 – BRC).
