Santiago Urrutia replaces Andy Priaulx at Cyan Racing

Lynk&Co Cyan Racing has its new recruit in the person of Santiago Urrutia. The Uruguayan will replace Andy Priaulx this year.

Santiago Urrutia replaces Andy Priaulx at Cyan Racing

Lynk&Co Cyan Racing confirmed this Tuesday the arrival in its ranks of the Uruguayan Santiago Urrutia for the 2020 WTCR World Touring Car Cup season.

The 23-year-old pilot, who went through the pyramid IndyCar between 2015 and 2018, with a Pro Mazda title in 2015 and two runner-up places in Indy Lights the following two years, had redirected his career towards the TCR in 2019, via the European series, finishing in third place.

A connoisseur therefore of the category which will come replace Briton Andy Priaulx within Lynk&Co Cyan Racing. Urrutia thus joins the French Yvan Muller and Yann Ehrlacher (aligned under the Cyan Racing banner), and the Swede Thed Björk whom Urrutia will support in the Cyan Performance team.

“It won't be easy, but that's why I love racing, admits Urrutia. I've done a lot of preparation in the simulator and we're going to test on some of the circuits on the calendar, so I feel confident for the season. »

The WTCR series will resume on September 12 and 13 at the Salzburgring in Austria for a 100% European campaign due to the coronavirus pandemic.
