A real demonstration is taking place this weekend in Marrakech (Morocco). Since Saturday's free practice, Hyundai crushes the competition, with pole in Race 1 for Thed Björk, followed byhe victory of Gabriele Tarquini. Sunday morning, the Italian veteran (56 years old) did it again by taking pole position for Race 3 (start 17:45 p.m. French time).
The original format of type ratings F1 (Q1, the 12 best times in Q2, before a Top 5 and a flying lap by driver in Q3) did not disturb the Hyundai i30 N, whether within Yvan Muller Racing (Yvan muller 2nd, Thed Björk 4th), or with the BRC Racing Team (Gabriele Tarquini 1st, Norbert Michelisz 3rd). Alone Yann Erlacher (Honda) was able to stay the course with a fifth best time in Q3 for Münnich Motorsport.

The session also made it possible to determine the order of the starting grid for Race 2, established following the Top 10 of Q2 in reverse order. In this little game, it's the Spaniard Pepe Oriola (Cupra) who receives pole, followed by the outgoing TCR International Series champion Jean Karl Vernay (Hear). The returning James Thompson (Honda) has not lost his driving skills and will start from the second row.
On the 2,9 kilometer urban route, the slightest mistake is paid for in cash, as noted Denis Dupont (Audi). The Belgian destroyed the right side of his RS3 LMS by hitting the wall of tires at the end of the pit straight in Q1.
