TCR – Towards the creation of an electric series

The electricity revolution is confirmed. After the gestation of a series dedicated to the Tesla Model S (the Electric GT) as well as the changeover of the World Rallycross Championship (World RX) towards electric, it is the turn of passenger cars to succumb to this fashion. WSC Technology Ltd., a subsidiary of WSC Ltd., the company behind the TCR concept, officially launched the E TCR.

The E TCR differs from its sisters (like the TCR Europe or the WTCR) by the unique use of electric motors. Days reserved for the media as well as promotional events will be organized during 2018. One manufacturer has already announced its participation: the brand Cupra, launched by Seat last week, built an E-Racer in accordance with the technical regulations of the E TCR.

The Iberian model will be physically unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show (Switzerland, March 8 to 18). However, two photos were released by Cupra on Friday afternoon, as well as technical information on the power of the batteries, capable of delivering a peak of 500 kW and 300 kW under normal conditions of use.
