Honda is preparing for the return of SEMA to Las Vegas from November 2 to 5. On site, the Japanese manufacturer, in close collaboration with its American department, is preparing to present seven vehicles in its stand, including two new Civic Si racing cars.

Built on the foundations and performances of the all-new road-going Civic Si, this racing version, prepared by Honda Performance Development, is intended for TC (Touring Car) competition and more particularly for the American sector, TC Americas, including SRO is the promoter, but also for possible track days according to the wishes of the new buyers.

In terms of performance, this Honda Civic Si TC version has a 4-cylinder 1.5 turbo from the road version but with a few more horses under the hood as well as a 6-speed manual gearbox. Concerning comfort, HPD has dispensed with the sunroof, the soundproofing of the passenger compartment, but also the seats to reduce weight and facilitate the installation of the roll bar making the Civic a real racing car.

SEMA will also be an opportunity for Honda to lift the veil on the Civic Si built to participate in the next 25 Hours of Thunderhill (December 3-5). The THR-W Civic Si was developed and tested using professional knowledge from multiple Honda divisions ranging from design to engineering to manufacturing. In the endurance event, the car will be driven by a team of Honda associates. The latter recently carried out a first test at Thunderhill in preparation for the race in a few weeks.
