Urrutia ends the season with a victory in Aragon, Muller vice-champion

The World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) saw nothing but blue skies this Sunday, November 15 at Motorland Aragon (Spain). After Yann Ehrlacher's coronation and Yvan Muller's victory, it was the turn of rookie Santiago Urrutia to score a success in Race 3, the last of the 2020 season.

The Uruguayan, 3rd in TCR Europe for his arrival on the Old Continent in 2019, ends his first campaign at world level in great style with two poles and a victory at this meeting. He is also the 10th different winner this year.

Yann Ehrlacher had fun finishing second, ahead of Jean-Karl Vernay (Alfa Romeo). The Villeurbane is 4th in the championship even though he had no steering wheel at the start of the year! He won the WTCR Trophy, reserved for drivers not supported by factories.

Author of a great comeback by starting 10th, Yvan Muller is his nephew's runner-up in the championship. The French veteran already held this position in 2018, behind Gabriele Tarquini.

In the Honda clan, everything went wrong this afternoon. Esteban Guerrieri, who would have liked to keep his honorary rank of vice-champion, only scored one small point (10th) and finished 3rd in the general ranking, as in 2018.
