And here we go again for a family trip! Double WTCR (World Touring Car Cup) champion Yann Ehrlacher and his illustrious uncle Yvan Muller will compete in the 2022 WTCR season still with the same team, Cyan Racing.

The two Alsatians will pilot the cutting-edge weapon of the field, namely the sky blue Lynk & Co 03 TCR. The French public will be able to meet them in the paddock of the Pau Grand Prix (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), which will mark the return of the category to Béarn from May 6 to 8.

“In 2021 it was the first time in my life that I defended a title and now I'm back for the second time, it's something that really motivates me, said the nephew Yann Ehrlacher. I worked hard mentally and physically before this season, and I feel ready. I'm super excited to start my fourth season with Cyan Racing, the longest association I've ever had with a team.

The 2022 season will be as difficult as every year, the competition will be very tough. I have no illusions that it will be easier after two consecutive titles, we will have to fight even harder this year. »

Tourism legend Yvan Muller will continue to lead the WTCR pelotons. This will be his 17th season at the highest level of the discipline! “I don’t feel like my debut in a world touring car was 17 years ago, evacuated the four-time WTCC world champion, 4th in 2021 from the WTCR. I feel fresh and my state of mind before this season is almost like my first.

We have come a long way together as a team over these five years and the results we have achieved over this time are unique. But the story is not over and the goal for this season has not changed. »

Moreover, the Frenchman would see himself returning to the top step of the podium. “I have helped Yann a lot in recent years. For the past two seasons, I have taken a step back when I'm on the track. I watch the little one ride more than anything else. But you know what, this year I'm going to try to think a little more about myself. Yann doesn't really need me anymore, I want to play my card. »
