The event adopts the three-race format, already used in 2023 during the Australian leg (Sydney). This format will also be repeated this year for three other rounds: in Spain (Valencia round, June 14-15), in Australia (The Bend, September 12-13) and again in South Korea (Inje Stadium, October 18-19). This season, the starting grid for the first two races is determined by the results of qualifying, with an inversion of the top ten for Race 2. The grid for Race 3, meanwhile, is established according to the total points scored in qualifying, Race 1 and Race 2 - why keep it simple?

Only 14 entries in the World Tour

Norbert Michelisz, two-time reigning World Tour champion, defends his title at the wheel of his Hyundai The Elantra N is entered by BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse, which also features Mikel Azcona and Néstor Girolami. 2024 runner-up Thed Björk takes over the Lynk & Co Cyan Racing team, which features the proven quartet of Yann Ehrlacher, Ma Qing Hua, and Santiago Urrutia. The goal is clear: to retain the teams' title and also secure the drivers' title for the first time in the World Tour era.

GOAT Racing arrives with confidence after its historic hat-trick at the 2024 Macau finale. The Spanish team is banking on two Argentinian drivers this season at the wheel of the Honda Civic Type R FL5: Esteban Guerrieri, still seeking world recognition, and Ignacio Montenegro, winner of last year's FIA Motorsport Games at the Valencia circuit.

The French structure SP Compétition is making the jump from TCR Europe to the World Tour, with two CUPRA Leon VZs entrusted to two experienced French drivers: John Filippi and Aurélien Comte, who is making his big comeback in a World Touring Car Cup.

Qualifying is scheduled for 17:10 PM this Friday. Race 1 will be held mid-evening French time (22:40 PM), also today. Race 2 is scheduled for early Saturday evening (19:10 PM) and Race 3 is scheduled for 1:00 AM on Saturday night. All TCR World Tour results can be found on AutoHebdo.fr
