The four-time World Touring Car Champion (WTCC) still plays the leading role in WTCR. He pragmatically welcomes the return of the discipline to France.

Yvan Muller: “Nothing like Pau-Arnos”

You have completed a few reconnaissance tours in a MitJet 2L. Have you ever driven in Pau-Arnos?

Apparently with a F3, I do not remember anymore. I was told that it dates from 1991. It was 30 years ago (he addresses Yann Ehrlacher who taunts him about his failing memory. Editor's note). Don't make fun of yourself because you remember all your races! In short, I also came with Oreca when I was racing with the BMW Supertourisme to do a burn-in before the Pau race, in 1994 or 1995.

Is it possible to compare this circuit to other tracks?

(He thinks for a long time) In fact, I don't think there's anything like Pau-Arnos! So it looks like Pau-Arnos.

Is it a pleasant circuit to drive?

Yes, you can really have fun when you're alone. But putting 25 crazy people there is another story. There won't be room for everyone.

Do you think there will be any team instructions as the end of the season approaches?

Of course, we always had them. The closer we get to the outcome of the championship, the more inevitable it becomes.

You are on a run of three final podiums in WTCR, but you are only 6th currently; is the Top 3 still playable?

I was still second the weekend before the summer break; it's so tight that it can change place very quickly. Everything is still possible and conceivable in the championship.
