A new TCR Europe championship launched in 2018

After the TCR Europe Trophy event held in Adria (Italy) with the Frenchman Aurélien Comte wins, a six-round championship will be organized across the Old Continent in 2018. Under the umbrella of TCR Euro Series, led by Paulo Ferrera, the TCR Europe Series retains the format of its big sister, the TCR International Series: two qualifying segments followed by two 25-minute races, with a reverse grid for the second round.

The championship will begin on the Var circuit of Castellet next May 6. Two motorsport hotspots will subsequently be visited: Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) and Monza (Italy). The Assen circuit (Netherlands), well known to fans of MotoGP is also present. The season will conclude on the Barcelona track (Spain) at the end of October.

“We thought the time had come to organize a real European championship”, explains promoter Paulo Ferrera. “This is a logical development for all teams already present in the national TCR series and who would like to take a step further internationally. »

Two titles will be awarded, one for the Drivers, the other for the Teams. You will have to pay 17 euros to participate in the season, and only 500 euros for an event.

The 2018 TCR Europe Series calendar:
May 6 – Le Castellet (France)

June 10 – Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium)
July 8 – Hungaroring (Hungary)
August 19 – TT Assen (Netherlands)
September 23 – Monza (Italy)
October 21 – Barcelona (Spain)
