Villeneuve loses a steering wheel in Nascar

Jacques Villeneuve will not find the Nascar, this weekend, in Watkins Glen. However, the Canadian does not miss an opportunity to reiterate all the esteem he has for the discipline. But, this time, Jacques Villeneuve experienced a rather special episode. Called to replace Reed Sorenson, the Canadian finally learned that the pilot was operational.

Victim of a collision in Pocono, Reed Sorenson was diagnosed with a concussion, prohibiting him from driving again this weekend. This is how the No. 43 Dodge was offered to Jacques Villeneuve, this Wednesday, by the management of Richard Petty Motorsport, to compensate for the absence of Sorenson. Happy, the Canadian was able to celebrate his return to Nascar, moreover for a Sprint Cup race. But, a few hours later, Villeneuve learned that the team no longer needed him. Sorenson, finally available, only suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning, according to a second medical opinion.

« I'm really, really disappointed, confided Jacques Villeneuve to RueFrontenac.com. It was unexpected, but, at the same time, it was a great opportunity to showcase myself. In addition, I was happy to be of service to my friend Foster Gillett, who found himself without a pilot for Watkins Glen. » Deprived of driving this weekend, the Canadian will continue his vacation in Switzerland, before preparing for the Grand Am race in Montreal, in which he will participate at the end of the month.
