Vincent Abril becomes official Bentley driver

After winning the Blancpain Sprint Series in a Continental GT3 entered by Team HTP with Maximilian Buhk, Vincent Abril has been named official driver of Bentley Motorsport, replacing Andy Meyrick. The 20-year-old Monegasque will play on the No. 7 with Guy Smith and Steven Kane who have been extended in Blancpain Endurance Series. The former member of Team WRT will take part in the 12 Hours of Sepang next December.

“We have been very impressed with these performances this year with Bentley Team HTP and it is a natural progression for a talented Vincent to join the official team. We have close relationships with our client teams and sharing talent between us is one of the keys to success”, commented Brian Gush, Bentley's sporting director.

“We are very grateful to Andy Meyrick for his service to the team over the past two years. He was a dedicated driver in the No. 7 and contributed greatly to the development of the Continental GT3. We will remain in close contact with him and I hope to see him again very soon behind the wheel of a Bentley,” added Brian Gush.

Andy Soucek, Maxime Soulet and Max Buhk were returned to the sister car #8.
