By fielding two C30s approved for the Swedish championship at Brands Hatch, Volvo has maintained its good habits. Over the past three seasons, the Swedish manufacturer has always been represented in a world championship race.
These very episodic appearances could lead to an official commitment in the medium term.
“The WTCC remains our ambition,” admits Derek Crabb, director of Volvo Motorsport. “Volvo is a great manufacturer and the WTCC is a great championship. For us, it is important to be ready and to find the right time to arrive in this discipline with a model that meets the new regulations. »
Carrying the maximum weight (40 kg), the Swede Robert Dahlgren took 15th place then 14th in the two races at Brands Hatch while his Norwegian teammate Tommy Rustad had retired twice.
