Whelen-C1: Vilarino adds Tours to his list

Ander Vilarino (TFT? Banco Santander) managed to fight his way through the peloton and maintain the lead of the race to take his first victory at Tours Speedway. The reigning champion retained the advantage over pole sitter Eddie Cheever III (Caal Racing). The Italian failed to take advantage of the green-white-checkered flag caused by the puncture of Christophe Bouchut (DF-1 Racing by B66) to regain his position.

Frédéric Gabillon (Still Racing) climbs to the last step of the podium after having given way to the two Chevrolet SS even if the winner of the 2012 edition was for a moment in the lead of the race. Mathias Lauda DF-1 Racing by B66) and Freddy Nordström (Still Racing) complete the top five. With the seventh place of Anthony Kumpen (PK Carsport) behind his teammate Bert Longin, the winner of Race 1 takes the reins of the Championship with a one point lead over the Belgian.
