It's a simple tweet, with a short message: “Hey”, punctuated with a greeting emoji, as if to signal to the world of motorsport that he was back. Robert Wickens took the wheel of a racing car for the first time in almost three years, this Tuesday, May 4 at Mid-Ohio (Ohio).

The Canadian, aged 32, came close to tragedy on August 19 during theIndyCar in Pocono, when his Dallara hit the protective net at high speed. Very seriously injured in the spinal cord and paraplegic in the weeks following the shock, the Formula champion Renault 3.5 2011 has since begun a long process of rehabilitation.
This test gallop took place thanks to Bryan Herta Autosport, entered in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge avec des Hyundai Veloster N TCR. L’équipe américaine a préparé un système de commandes sur le volant, in the style of Alessandro Zanardi's BMWs in Tourism, DTM and GT3.
